On 27 November 2025, the Technology Incubation & Innovation Support Center (ISC) successfully hosted the online seminar “ESG Excellence for the IT Industry,”attracting participation from many leaders across Vietnam’s IT business community.
The keynote speaker, Ms. Dora Yenan ESG specialist, highlighted the importance of ESG and presented a detailed roadmap for achieving excellence in ESG practices.
Key topics covered:
- The ESG framework: Built on the foundation of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It rests on three core pillars: Environmental (E) climate change, waste management), Social (S) (workforce diversity, labour rights), and Governance (G) (business ethics, anti-bribery measures).
- Why it matters: Implementing high-standard ESG practices is becoming a core requirement, driven by international regulations and standards (such as ISSB and GRI), the net-zero commitments of global corporations (including Google, Apple, and TSMC), and growing investor preference for ESG-aligned businesses.
- Implementation roadmap: Ms. Dora Yen outlined a detailed five-step roadmap to achieve ESG excellence and a six-step pathway toward Net Zero, beginning with kiểm kê khí nhà kính (GHG inventory) greenhouse gas (GHG) inventorying and continuous improvement following the PDCA cycle..
- Technology solutions: The aspenext AI SaaS platform, featuring 10 specialized systems, was introduced to help businesses simplify their journey toward Net Zero—including an AI-powered Carbon Inventory System and an Emissions Analytics System.
- In-depth discussion on the IT industry:
- Carbon reduction: IT companies can lower emissions by reducing electricity consumption and leveraging renewable energy sources—such as solar power—to move toward net-zero emissions.
- Benefits: Reducing emissions helps businesses build a competitive edge in the supply chain—by contributing to customers’ Scope 3 targets—while also lowering internal operating costs.
- “ESG Transformation”: Many Vietnamese businesses (82%) are shifting their focus toward “ESG transformation”—aligning digital products and solutions with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 8, 9, 12, and 16) to help customers advance both digital transformation and ESG performance at the same time.
