Introduction to IoT model for raising That Lat fish:
ISC is working with domestic and foreign experts to test the IoT application for raising That Lat fish ponds in the ISC area. The goal of this test is to optimize the farming process and improve the quality of fishes. The test period is expected to last from August 2024 to April 2025 on the same two IoT systems at the same time.
This model focuses on monitoring and automatically adjusting the water environment in an automated manner, thereby ensuring the best conditions for the development of the That Lat fish. Currently, the sensor system has been installed, and the project team is also receiving support from experts from Thanh Khiet Company (Vi Thuy district, Hau Giang province) in determining the ideal living environment for the That Lat fish.
Benefits of IoT model for raising That Lat fish:
Through the sensor system, continuously updated water environment indicators will help farmers make decisions based on collected data, so this system will:
- Real-time monitoring of the farming environment: IoT sensor systems help continuously monitor environmental parameters such as temperature, pH, and water quality. This ensures that farmers are always aware of environmental conditions and can make adjustments when necessary.
- Optimizing farming conditions: With the support of a knifefish farming expert, the project team identified the best environmental parameters for this fish species. The IoT system will automatically adjust factors such as temperature and water quality to create the ideal farming environment.
- Save time and resources: The automatic system helps to minimize human intervention, saving time and effort in the process of managing the farming environment.
- Protecting the environment: This model helps to reduce waste and wastewater by using a water circulation system, thereby protecting natural resources and the environment.
Steps to deploy IoT model for raising That Lat fish
- Bước 1: Lắp đặt hệ thống cảm biến (completed): The project team installed IoT sensors to collect data on the farming environment, including temperature and water quality.
- Step 2: Consult an expert from Thanh Khiet company: The research team consulted with a Pangasius farming expert to determine the optimal environmental factors for this fish species. The expert provided information on the temperature, pH and water quality most suitable for the growth of Pangasius.
- Step 3: Set up control center and data processing: A control center will be set up to process data from sensors and automatically adjust environmental control devices.
- Step 4: Connect to remote management system: The system will be connected to an online platform, allowing farmers to monitor and control the farming environment remotely via mobile devices.
- Step 5: Test and calibrate the system: After complete installation, the system will be tested and calibrated to ensure that the parameters are adjusted correctly and meet actual requirements.
- Step 6: Optimize and refine the model: The system will be refined and optimized based on data collected from the testing process, helping to increase farming efficiency and prepare for practical application.
Currently, the IoT model for raising That Lat fish at ISC has received support from Thanh Khiet Company's experts in determining the best living environment for That Lat fish as well as setting up an automatic control system and remote management platform, to create a smart, sustainable and efficient farming system.
In the near future, the ISC research team is carrying out optimization activities to minimize investment and operating costs of the system to a minimum level so that it can be transferred to farmers for implementation. In addition, ISC will add AI (artificial intelligence) applications to effectively evaluate the productivity and quality of fish during the farming process.
