At 8:30 a.m. on Friday, 24 October 2025, ISC Hậu Giang, together with the Mekong Delta branch of VCCI, hosted a talk titled “ESG: A Competitive Advantage for Export Businesses in the Mekong Delta.” The session focused on two key themes: (1) a breakdown of the concrete benefits of ESG, and (2) a step-by-step guide to building an ESG framework from A to Z for export and manufacturing businesses—presented by Ms. Dora Yen (Taiwan - China).

Ms. Nguyễn Thị Thương Linh — Deputy Director of VCCI Mekong Delta — delivers the opening remarks.
ESG was clearly defined through its three pillars: E (Environmental), S (Social) and G G (Governance). The session also linked ESG to the United Nations’ 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), citing examples such as No Poverty and Zero Hunger (SDGs 1 and 2), Life Below Water (SDG 14), Life on Land (SDG 15), as well as the importance of peace and justice (SDG 16) and partnerships (SDG 17). Importantly, ESG was presented as more than a compliance requirement—it was positioned as a clear competitive advantage , helping businesses attract investors and secure more favorable financing terms.

The roundtable brought together 30 businesses for discussion and exchange. Notably, Ms. Dora also introduced a practical model for effective ESG implementation—an internal governance structure built around three key elements: Board oversight of an ESG team, organized into smaller working groups for Environment, Social, and Governance. Appointment of a Chief Sustainability Officer (CSO) to deliver quarterly reports to the Board, alongside designated IR/PR roles. A structured implementation process based on industry-specific ESG topics, including data-collection workflows to track quarterly KPIs, and the development of internal ESG handbooks, procedures, and work guidelines to ensure alignment with international standards.

On this occasion, ISC also introduced and shared a range of technology application models centered on Smart solutions, Green development, and the circular economy that have already been implemented, along with the preparation steps for rolling out an ESG model at ISC Hậu Giang in the coming period.
