On the morning of August 23, 2024, ISC coordinated with the Hau Giang Farmers' Association to organize a Seminar on Smart Aquaculture. The workshop attracted over 80 farming households, cooperatives, and agricultural enterprises in Hau Giang province to attend.

At the Workshop, Mr. Vo Van Trung - Chairman of Hau Giang Province Farmers' Association said “Hau Giang province has a total agricultural land area of ​​133,330 hectares (accounting for 86% of the natural land area) and is focusing on converting ineffective rice-growing land to other crops or aquaculture for higher economic efficiency.” đã cho thấy tiềm năng trong việc ứng dụng công nghệ cho hoạt động nuôi trồng thuỷ sản.

In addition, the workshop heard 3 experts from Taiwan (China) presenting contents related to the orientation and application of technology in aquaculture. Mr. Liu Sheng Yung, Chairman of the Taiwan Smart Aquaculture Lighting Association (TSAGA), briefly introduced digital transformation activities in aquaculture with the aim of promoting the development of large-scale green energy sectors, helping aquaculture achieve high efficiency in the direction of sustainable development. Through the application of AIoT (artificial intelligence and internet of things), TSAGA has created a new type of large-scale aquaculture that integrates aquaculture farms, tourist attractions and entertainment applications.

Experts introduce smart aquaculture technology at the Workshop

Mr. Chiu Jing-Ming, Aquaculture Digital Transformation Manager, Institute of Information Industry, discussed Experience in Aquaculture Digital Transformation. Taiwan (China) promotes digital transformation in aquaculture by applying scientific and technological achievements to establish models to record and simulate the actual aquaculture environment. Along with the application of artificial intelligence, it helps aquaculture farmers overcome challenges to increase output, management scale and improve the quality of aquatic harvest.

Mr. Jim Yang, General Manager, JNC Technology introduced the aquaculture IoT system. With simple operations on mobile phones, you can grasp the water quality of the farm from any location and through AI technology.

Exchange of memorandum of understanding on smart aquaculture research

 

The workshop received many comments and concerns from aquaculture farmers. On this occasion, ISC and JNC Technology also exchanged a memorandum of understanding that will focus on professional support in research and development of smart aquaculture technology. Creating conditions for scientists and businesses to exchange and cooperate in all areas of agriculture.

In the coming time, ISC will continue to play the role of an innovation center and technology incubator in the Mekong Delta region. ISC promotes technologies in 3 areas: information technology - focusing on digital content BPO/GSS, Technology for agriculture with priority on technology applications for aquaculture and STEM education.
